BIO

Kristi Haynes, also known as the artist, Kristi Champion, has been an active artist since her days as a toddler, taking pencil to her parents’ walls to create, if not masterpieces, at least memorable markings denoting her budding talent into the art world. Her interest never waned and she graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Fine Art with an emphasis in oil painting and graphic design in 2003.

Her extensive career in the art world has involved assisting and guiding Interior Design Professionals as they seek to fulfill their clients’ complex and various needs and desires in decorating their homes and businesses. She specializes in creating custom artwork for clients who help give her a direction of subject matter, preferred medium, ideal size and color pallet and she takes it from there, creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces that wouldn’t exist without the team efforts of artist and client. She has worked on massive design projects of her own and considers herself a very experienced interior designer. She has also spent the past 20 years managing an art gallery, merchandising showrooms, and designing large retail establishments. Her experiences have served as rite of passage in fine-tuning her abilities as a Professional Artist, Art Consulting Manager, Florist, Curator and Event Planner, Photographer, Graphic Designer, Concierge/Receptionist, Sales Associate, and Marketer.

As an oil and acrylic painter and plexiglass sculptor by profession, Kristi favors Abstract Works over Realism, and her pieces are created with the idea of enhancing the harmony between the viewer of the art and the environment itself. She prefers to work in gold, silver and copper foil, earth tone color palettes and an asymmetrical balance that exude warmth and beauty. Her next favorite color pallet is the use of bold and extremely remarkable colors with striking vibrancy. A true follower of the Ancient school of Epicureanism, Kristi centers both her life and work in a uniform manner, focused on creating a mood of happiness and contentment.

Her Abstract Works are designed to energize owners and viewers of her work with a sense of harmony and she strives to bring out the positive in everyone she touches with her works. Hearing people express how much her art affects them in such an inspiring way is fuel for her soul and the driving force behind her need to continue her destined path as an artist. With so many disharmonies in the world, Kristi has made a conscious decision to live her life raising her kids and producing art with the goal being the creation of peace and serenity amidst a world that is lacking in softer influences.

If Kristi could crystallize her intentions with her works she would say simply that she hopes to provide her clientele with a sense of greater comfort in their lives.

A Colorado Native, Kristi is a 4th generation Coloradan, tracing her roots to the western slope back to the 19th century. Kristi and her husband have two children who are ten years apart. Their oldest son is an 16-year-old that plays the drums and bass guitar and has already accomplished what all musicians dream of before he was a sophomore in high school. He's toured in 8 countries and a large handful of states, and he's even played for a crowd of 10,000 people at Red Rocks. His younger sister is almost 6, and looks up to him in every way and has been dancing to his music since before she could crawl. Their relationship is beyond rewarding to witness and everything their parents could want for them.

She loves the west, the mountains, the blue skies, and the people. She does not see herself living anywhere else.
